Animals and Birds

Jangles in the district are scattered in various small parts. Therefore the wild animals are not conservated properly. Cheetah, Wild cats, Moongus, Fox, Nilgays, Bears, spoted deers, wild pigs etc. wild animals as well as black face monkeys are found in northen side jungle and Bor Reserved forest.

Wild Birds

Few wild birds such as ‘Huma’, ‘Karak’, peacock, ‘titar’, are found in jungle.

Bor Reserved forest

The Bor Reserved forest declared in 1970. It has the area about 61.10 K.M. where as 28.73 Sq.K.M. is conservated and 32.37 Sq.K.M. is reserved forest. Nilgay, dear, spotted deer, wild pig, Bear, Wild Cats, peacock etc are found in in this forest. . As per the Census of Tiger in 1983-84, six cheetah, and two tigers are found in forests of the district.

There is the guest house available for tourists near the Bor Dam.
